Right on the water. You can spend all day just watching the waves roll in while seated in your armchair.
Wake up surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Share a cup of fresh coffee as nature revitalises your spirit. Let the waves massage your eyes, mesmerise your ears and soothe your soul as you look out to the wreck of the Willyama. Maybe dolphins are playing in the water in front of the house, maybe an albatross is soaring by overhead, maybe Kangaroo Island is floating on the horizon as in a modern painting or perhaps kangaroos are wandering along your shared boundary with the famous Innes National Park. Let the cares of everyday life melt away as you think about your day ahead. There’s so much to explore, so much to experience, so much to rediscover without even getting into the car!
NOW WITH HI SPEED NBN WIFI . . . so you can do your thing while enjoying this magic place
Standing proud where the pristine waters of Investigator Strait meet the eastern boundary of renowned Innes National Park, THE LOOKOUT holds the best position in Marion Bay, with unrestricted sea views of Willyama Beach and sunset views over Snow Lake. On a clear day you can even see Kangaroo Island hovering large as life on the horizon. The kangaroos and emus will wander up into your view nearly every morning or night.
Walk out your door straight into the park and observe the roos or emus grazing, explore secluded bays, go fishing, surfing and see varied native wildlife. Alternatively, step across the road and stroll along the untrampled sands or enjoy your favourite water sports. There are sea views to the south and east and land views to the north and west, including the magnificent Lake Snow. The seabirds fly by at eye level as you watch the rhythm of the waves below.
THE LOOKOUT has been architecturally designed to take advantage of its unique position, the last house in Marion Bay before the Innes National Park, with unspoilt views over the water and the park. It is built over two levels and is ideal for one, two or three couples, or you and a few mates or even a family or two.
There are two bedrooms with queen sized beds plus two bunk rooms (one incorporating a double bed). There’s a fully equipped kitchen, a barbecue, a couple of fridges, two separate living areas complete with their own showers and toilets. The Lookout is very popular with couples seeking a luxurious romantic getaway.

A word from Mark and Kathy
Those of you who know Kathy and me know that we have been searching like crazy for a beautiful place on the ocean. We have scoured the coastlines of Australia, not just online but flying and driving all over the country in search of that special place. We have searched in Tasmania, in New Zealand, Kangaroo Island, East Coast of Australia from Cooktown to Melbourne, then South from Melbourne to Ceduna and beyond. We finally found THE LOOKOUT right next to Innes National Park and most importantly, right on the ocean. We are happy to share this gem with you. You can hear the waves roll in, swim and snorkel in some of the most pristine waters on the planet or just stay warm and cosy inside and watch the sea birds. It has taken us decades, but we have found it. We hope to see you there some time soon!
The perfect family holiday
The Lookout met our needs and so much more! As a family of six it can be difficult to find accommodation to fit us comfortably but no such problem at The Lookout. There is plenty of room to spread out, even with uncles and grandparents as well.
It’s in a perfect spot with amazing snorkelling almost from the front door, beautiful walking tracks in the National Park next door and mountain biking delights.
We loved exploring the beaches nearby and coming back to the comfort and ever changing views of The Lookout.
So close to the beach
We love staying at The Lookout whenever we can. It’s right there on the clifftop close to the beach and we can see the whole of Willyama Beach from nearly every room in the house. It is quiet, at the end of the road. One of our favourite activities is watching the sun set from the deck on the west side of the house, looking out over Lake Snow. Nice kitchen, and BBQ is right outside the kitchen door. Looking forward to our next visit!
